Berhat Cem Oner is a researcher who graduated from Middlesex University in the department of Islamic Studies. The Researcher’s interests are Islamic theology, Usul, methodology and Shi’a studies. Within Shi’a studies, the researcher is particularly interested in the Zaydi school of thought. Zaydism is a small, yet a very early and important school of thought within Islam.

Naturally, this is a reason why this particular subject is quite neglected in academia and this is why the researcher intends to produce more academic work regarding  Zaydism.

Berhat alongside Zaidoon al-Kendi is the founder of Imam Zayd Institute and Imam Zayd Blogs. Imam Zayd Institute aims to offer an accurate and objective analysis and reading of Islamic Studies and then relate it to contemporary issues.
