Russia and the Balancing of World Power

With the emerging of new powers through the advancement of military and technology, the current Hegemonic World Order being shook, and its roots being torn. Russia is a nation that has seen its share of wars, and with losses and victories. Russia has had a change of leadership and direction since President Putin succeeded in the elections in the last 20 years. Russia has learnt from his experiences of agreeing with the current Hegemonic World Order led by the United States and understood that it stands to lose autonomy against decisions made by the United States. As a result, Russia foreign policy has been to carve a new direction, a new international order, where Russia is afforded mutual respect, its rights, protection, and security guaranteed.
